Juan Martinez III
Juan Martinez III accepted the call to youth ministry after surrendering his life to Jesus as a teenager. As the first Christian in his family, God used Juan to lead his parents and brothers to the Lord. He embarked on a journey to mentor and influence teenagers from all over the country.
As a teen, Juan spent time in unhealthy social settings that resulted in poor grades and trouble with the law. His life was spiraling downhill. After living on his own for awhile as a teenager, he turned to his parents, church and youth pastor who became the positive voices in his life. They mentored him and helped him begin the process of surrendering his life to God’s call.
In college at Evangel University, Juan met his beautiful wife, Katelynn. They now have three amazing children together and enjoy traveling. Juan has been a motivational speaker at public schools, sports teams, youth events, retreats, camps, and churches. Juan currently serves as Senior Director of Outreach at Vineyard Cincinnati and is the Youth Conference Director for SOS.
Chris Durso is the Senior Associate Pastor at Christ Tabernacle in Queens, NY. He is the creative architect of the misfit movement, a local youth ministry that has had global impact. For 10 years he passionately led the next generation ministries called Misfit NYC. Chris with his wife Yahris reside in New York City with their two children, Dylan and Chloe. They are committed to seeking the presence of God and helping others encounter Him.
Their passion for bringing the Gospel to all generations is best explained by Romans 12:1-2 (The Message): “Take your everyday, ordinary life-- your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life--and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God.”
